Baseball bat-wielding man bashes Brooklyn church’s glass doors – Police are looking for a man who bashed in the glass doors of a Brooklyn church with a baseball bat, cops said Thursday. Surveillance video released by police shows the moustached vandal walk up to the Williamsburg Spanish Church on Grand St. near Havermeyer St. in Williamsburg with a wooden bat in hand and immediately begin swinging around 7:25 p.m. Wednesday. He reaches back and takes six chops at the church doors, raining shards of glass across the sidewalk. Surveillance video shows the suspect walking up to the entrance of the Williamsburg Spanish Church on Grand Street in Williamsburg and begin bashing the glass doors with the wooden bat. After taking six cuts with the bat, the man can be seen pacing in front of the busted doors, and then screaming something at the building. (Photo: BKLYNER)Gowanus – Elected officials, transportation advocates, and local union members joined Citi Bike Tuesday morning (August 15) for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of the bike share program’s new flagship operations facility in Gowanus. The new 16,000-square-foot facility, located at 77 14th Street (between 2nd & 3rd Avenues), will accommodate approximately 174 Citi Bike employees, mostly members of the Transit Workers Union Local 100. 74-Year-Old Man Critically Injured by Car in Ocean Hill, NYPD Says

BROOKLYN — A 74-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries when a driver hit him in a notoriously dangerous Ocean Hill intersection Thursday morning, police said. The man had been crossing the street at Atlantic and Rockaway avenues when the car hit him about 5:20 a.m., NYPD officials said. He was taken to Interfaith Medical Center where he’s listed in critical condition, police said. Police didn’t immediately provide information about the car’s driver or if the driver was arrested. Police said their investigation continues. The man was struck at the same intersection where an 81-year-old woman was fatally struck on March 16 of this year and another person was fatally struck there in 2016, the city’s Vision Zero data shows.
