Man who shot cop, took his own life said ‘he couldn’t function’ – The gunman who shot an NYPD cop before taking his own life told his father recently that “he couldn’t function.” “It’s a very bad tragedy we’re going through right now,” Amar Sookdeo, 58, told the Daily News on Friday as he stood in a blood-splattered Brooklyn hallway, just feet from where his son killed himself. “It would have been worse if the cop had been killed,” he added.
